hiding in my pockets

Hey everyone,

*does the midweek dance*

Long day but interesting.
London really sucks the energy right out of you.

- Surrounded by crowds of suited business people -
- App development jargon flying into and over my head -
- Flat whites & pretzels -
- Conversations with my dad -
- Browsing patisserie books in Foyles -

And something to keep me warm in this cold and rainy weather.

Black Trousers - Mango

Hope you're all having a nice week so far.
I'm off to watch Aussie Masterchef!

[NOTD] Tea With Glitter

Hello wonderfuls,

Time now for another post which must include pictures of my hands. There's this trend going; glitter. It's funny because I used to hate having glitter on my nails (it's still a pain to get off though). However, with the right combinations it can look rather glamorous or dare I say, "bling-ing" as opposed to just plain tacky.

And on that note...I hope mine doesn't look tacky.

This is "Tea with Glitter" ; a not so tasty warm berverage.

Latest In Beauty Discovery Fragrance Box

Hi wonderful peoples,

Happy Saturday!

Earlier in the week I recieved my Latest In Beauty Fragrance Discovery Box. (Still available!) For £4.95 you can get up to 6 perfume samples. I received (and I think alot of people did) 5 samples, one of which is a full sized product worth £20! In the past, I've stayed away from perfumes because I had the impression it was only something that worked for "sophisticated women". After trying a sample of Burberry Body I realised how much I preferred tailored scents as opposed to jumping into a mist of body spray.

-one-
Elie Saab Le Parfum 1ml spray

This, for me, is the perfect all year round evening scent. With orange blossom and jasmine it's a beautiful lightly sweet scent with a nice woody based. Very elegant and sophisticated.

-two-
Yardley Royal English Daisy 1ml vial

Honestly, I don't think I've ever paid much attention to this brand. On first impressions, I wasn't impressed nor disappointed. However, after a little spritz and wearing it for a whole day I adore it! It's not a heavy scent but rather bright and reminiscent of Spring. Only when wearing it did I pick up on the warmer scents of sandalwood and musk. This retails on Yardley at 50ml for £9.99. Amazing price! I think I will be purchasing this one.

-three-
Liz Earle Botanical Essence No1 2ml spray

The card this sample came on gave an exicting description telling of the variety of countries different elements were from. Unfortunately, this perfume is not for me. It gave off a very strong herbal scent which bordered on medicinal and it made my eyes water a little.

-four-
SpaceNK Laughter 15ml mini spray

This is the full sized (minature) product. I have to say, I absolutely love the packaging and the bottle is cute too. A very warming, autumnal scent with a hint of spice from the ginger. Definitely one for the colder months; it's such a cosy scent.

-five-
L'Occitane Peony 5ml mini bottle

For a sample, I was pleasantly surprised that there was so much product and in a pretty little bottle with packaging to match. The deep pink colour reminded me of a chilled summer juice. The scent is very floral and a hint fruity. You definitely get that floral impact when you smell it but there's also this nice hit of freshness afterwards which I love because it meant it didn't burn my nose. Definitely a scent for the Spring/Summer months. A full sized bottle retails at £39.99 which I would consider pricey for a student such as myself. However, during the warmer months, I would definitely consider purchasing the Eau de Toilette Roll On version at £14.00. Especially since you can pop it in your bag.

On first impressions, L'Occitane Peony was my favourite sample to recieve. Although I still love this scent, Royal English Daisy and Laughter are my wearable favourites for the coming months and the ones I would most likely purchase when these are finished.

This Discovery Box really was just that; a way of discovering new scents and what types of scents I like best. The value for money is amazing and it didn't take long to be delivered. I am fairly confident I will be purchasing other themed boxes from them in the future.

living like caramel

Hey everyone,

It's Friday! Who's excited/exhausted/something else?

My first EVER OOTD post. I've been trying to "jazz" things up abit. It's funny that I waited until I got home at 11pm to take pictures of my "outfit". Apologies if I look at all disheveled, crazy or am tipping to the side. (Sleep deprivation ftw). My face looked even more noobish after a long day so I decided to leave that part out. And on a final note, working a good focus and using the self-timer obviously hasn't worked at all well for me. Sad times. In the future, I'll just get a lovely family member to take it for me. :)

Jumper - H&M
Skirt - H&M
Boots - Dorothy Perkins

...And the faint scent of Yardley London "Royal English Daisy".

[NOTD] The Red Queen

Good start to the week?

.....I hope so.....

I think this is THE most exciting NOTD post I've done to date. Okay, so I'll admit  it's not the most challenging of nail designs (unless you have trouble sitting still waiting for it to dry)!

"pack of cards - queen of hearts - alice in wonderland"

These were the ideas running through my head as I watched it dry.

Barry M's Red Glitter is a-maz-ing. Not only in easy application and a great glitzy finish but just watching it in the bottle; it's like a flow of molten glittery lava. To begin with, I was scared to paint all my nails in this, in case it was too bright, but I think I might do for an occasion.

Complete list
BarryM 3in1 top/base/nail hardner
2true Shade 39 (black)
L.A Colors Berry
BarryM Red Glitter

What are your thoughts on these? What's your favourite glitter polish at the moment?

Urban Decay Iconic Lipstick in GASH

Urban Decay Iconic Lipstick in GASH.  (what a name, eh?)

I'm going to be honest. The first time I saw these Lipsticks I just wanted one because of the packaging. I mean, look at that? It's a freakin' sword! Zelda much?

A Summer impulse buy in which I picked a darker and fairly random colour to my taste. I was worried I'd regret it but having the opportunity to pull a lipstick out of my makeup bag with a sword makes everything better.

Recently, I've been wearing this lipstick alot. I've worn it every day this week, with just a hint of clear gloss over the top.

Not only do I LOVE the packaging I love the lipstick too! I've become quite comfortable with the colour. Unfortunately, the photographs aren't really picking it up right.

It smells yummy; a caramel-esque dessert. However, it tastes quite bitter. It's supposed to be on my lips though, not in my mouth, so I can live with that.

Smooth application, long lasting and isn't drying on my lips. It has become my favourite lippy this month but at approx £13 I'm sure you could find something just as good that's cheaper.

Unless they come out with further interesting packagings, I probably won't purchase any other UD lipsticks. The quality is great but I've used other lipsticks of a similar standard that are cheaper.

I'm going to confess, I haven't tried any other UD products. If you have any suggestions on what to try next do let me know in a comment. Unless, of course, it's UDPP. Haha!

[NOTD] Blue Velvet

Hi hi lovely peoples,

I should probably start calling these NOTWs...

I'm a big fan of L.A Colors nail polish. They're great quality, long lasting and 99p. Yes, that's even cheap that ELF polishes! Of course, the only place I could find them in the UK is Beauty Base in Westfields....

Anyway, here's an odd colour for this time of year. I have no idea why I picked this but so is life.

Glitter overload coming soon....

Highlight the smiles of the week

Hello hello,

How is everyone?

Gosh, I don't like it when I go so many days without making a post. Even though it has been reading week (the fake half term) I've been so busy that by 11pm I am ex-haust-ed.

I feel like I haven't done a review in ages. I guess my monies has gone towards other things recently. I'm in need of a Boots/Superdrug trip soon though and I shall be checking out the mighty Soap&Glory cosmetics line. There's also all The Body Shop's Christmas products hitting shelves. I need to get me some Spiced Vanilla hand cream. Yum yum!

For now, here are a few highlights of my previous week: cupcake baking, wooden roses & mai cats!

Queen Of Hearts (a red lip experience)

Oh Hai thar,

Another 1am post from me.
I think you know what to expect now; a frivolous affair.
oh mai!

*cough*

You know how people always say that EVERYONE looks good with a red lip? And then you nod your head in some form of agreement until someone suggests that YOU yourself should try it out...

Reply: "Oh no! I really couldn't. It looks great on you but I'm not confident enough for thaaaat."

Okay, I'm getting to my story. So, I was in Boots, milling around the makeup section, and I was choosing out a Collection 2000 lipstick. I came across "Queen of hearts" which had the most awesomesauce name that I just HAD to get it. Unfortunately, it was, a "real deal" red.

I bought it anyway.
Did some home experimentation
and
LOVED IT!

It applies smoothly, lasts a long time and makes ones teeth look a tad whiter. You can build it up to the level that you desire. During the day I have it more as a stain whereas in the evening I'll go for bold. Sometimes I'll add a clear gloss over the top too.

I think it's safe to say that wearing the things that are supposedly for "confident people" is what gives you the confidence. (IMO)

Random pondering: Does wearing certain items or adding particular looks to your appearance, enforce different frames of thinking? A different attitude or behaviors perhaps?

</end of thinking for today>

[NOTD] Grace Green

Hello Lovelies,

It's about 1am.
I've decided to retire for the night on coursework.
I am literally, the best example of an "epic fail".

Anyway, I shouldn't start rambling.
Wait, does that count?
OKAY.Focus.Lady.

Now, firstly, I want to apologise for the big gap in posts. Uni is getting pretty hectic. I still find the time to read blogs though! (Sometimes in the boring lectures where I should be paying attention. *ahem* )

Second of all: I have a new Twitter account. @allthatJazzeh. I'll be pretty active on here with ramblings, updates, perhaps pictures of food (because I'm cool like that) and of course hints to when my first ever giveaway is coming up. At the moment, I'm thinking I might have it at 100 followers. Having 100 people subscribed to my blog would be amazing! And even now, having 47 makes me happy & motivated to write. You all deserve cookies! (but I don't think I can post food).

*end of cheesy talk*

For once in my life, I actually want to "tweet" but it seems silly with 0 followers. So, follow me on Twitter pretty please! :D

The Point: Models Own "Grace Green"

I didn't have time for 2 coats but I think it looks pretty good with just the one.

I rambled didn't I? *fail*

Ah well,

Toodle pip! xo

Mini Autumn Fashion Haul

Hello lovelies,

The season of Autumn has arrived! (Sarirah, you're slow. This happened ages ago!) Golden leaves, crisp cold air and an orangey glow of trees. It's my favourite month of the year. Not only this, but the colours and textures of Autumn collections this year are beautiful. I'm loving the berry reds/purples, burnt yellows/oranges and intense navy colours.

Naturally, it's been hard purchasing clothes in the last 2 months because I've been loving alot of things! I've spent the last three days sitting in front of this screen, stressing over failing coursework. So, I decided to mix it up alittle and go shopping before my afternoon lecture. Naughty!

Originally, I was just going to focus on getting some cosy knitwear and a pair of jeans. But who ever just buys what they set out for? :-p

-Jumper . £19.99 . Bershka-

I was about to give up in this shop and take my leave but on the way out I spotted this. Love the colour and although I normally find the statements on clothing cheesy; I quite liked this. "Everything you can imagine is possible". Positivity always helps.

-Black Dress . £14.99 . H&M-

I saw a similar one online at Dorothy Perkins. However, this one was long sleeves and cheaper. I like the wrap style on the top and I thought it was something simple you could add to with accessories, jackets etc.

-Skirt . £14.99 . H&M-

I've been searching for a nice mid-length skirt to wear with some boots (which I am yet to find and purchase). This looks the same colour (a burnt red/orange) to a maxi dress I saw in River Island. It's cheaper and comes with a (in my opinion) nicer belt. I also prefer that this is slightly tapered in.

-Jeans . £30 . Dorothy Perkins-

Oh look, it's the original goal of the shopping trip. I previously purchased a pair of these in light blue. Baby boot cut is just a more fitted version of boot cut jeans. Personally, I think they fit alot nicer and the jeans are SO SOFT. Unfortunately, they're alittle pricey. (Yay for student discount!).

-Scarf . £9.99 . Bershka-

It's hard to find thin scarfs these days because all the winter stock are filling the racks. They had these light scarfs in an array of different colours (with a couple patterned ones too). I just wanted black though. I think these are slightly bigger than the ones you can find at Primark hence my handing over the extra pennies for this one instead. Note: it's actually ALOT larger than the Primark scarf I have. It's a friggin' tent. :D

Aaaand that's about it. What are your favourite fashion items for this Autumn/Winter? Let me know! :)
