The Time I Found Free People's Beauty Section And Discovered New Brands
Did you know that Free People have a whole beauty and wellness section on their website? Yep, neither did I. For me, Free People was always synonymous with a brand whose clothing I could never afford. Featuring cruelty free, ethical and organic products and garments, Free People is definitely the place to go to discover some interesting new beauty brands.
Because you know what I’m like when it comes to skincare, I decided to try some new products and brands instead of repurchasing old favourites. The Face & Body Balm from Soul Sunday is still on my wishlist though. I’ve been following their Instagram for forever. It’s a minimalist skincare dream.
WANDERING DUSK HYDRATING SYRUP
Oh, what a name. It sounds luxurious and nourishing to say the least. Created by Australian brand, Mieux Derma, not only is their product naming on point but their ingredients listing and packaging follows suit. I’m in love with the website in general so you can check that out here.
The formulation of Wandering Dusk is viscous, gelatinous and like a cold gummy syrup. I’ve found pressing it into my skin and then sweeping upwards works best. It contains chamomile and echinacea to soothe the skin. I’m not too keen on the scent it’s more like a dried tea blend than something herbal and spa like.
My skin feels nourished and bouncy to the touch but it oddly leaves more of a matte finish on my skin. Slightly confused by this one so the jury is still out but Mieux Derma is definitely a brand on my radar now.
GARDENIA & TEA ANTIOXIDANT SERUM
I do love a good body oil and seeing this one popping up on One Love Organic’s Instagram, made it my go to choice. Slightly less runny than your typical body oil. It has a light floral scent and I love the packaging. You can pretty much just spray it directly onto your skin as the mechanism is quite direct.
This has pumpkin oil, sea buckthorn oil and a sea botanical called Antileukine 6 which is rich in antioxidants and protects against environmental aggressors. So far, this has been a treat for my skin but time will tell whether it actually has any long term benefits.
