New Year, New Skincare (Korean + Taiwanese Brands)
THE FOAMING CLEANSER THAT’S NOT DRYING
Naruko is a Taiwanese brand. This is their Raw Job’s Tears CO2 Pore Minimising & Brightening Foaming Facial Wash. My first two uses of this have not been drying in the slightest but the jury is still out on what happens over long term use. I’m assigning this to morning cleanser duty as it’s something light and refreshing.
Naruko was brought to my attention after I discovered one of their sheet masks in a sheet mask subscription box. The Raw Job’s Tears skincare line is an interesting name and is called as such because it includes Job’s Tears, a superfood cereal based grain. I’d never heard of this native plant to Southeast Asia and also discovered that elsewhere it can commonly be known as Chinese pearl barley so look out for that.
Job’s Tears is used for potential anti-aging properties and for hydrating the skin. This skincare line by Naruko is focused on brightening and pore minimising. Both of which are on my skincare to-do list this year.
ANOTHER FACE MIST
Obviously. This is the W.Lab Double Water Shaking Mist. A bi-phase formulation that contains an oil and water phase with the aim to provide great hydration but also that fresh skin feeling. It contains oatmeal oil and Alaskan glacier water as one of many interesting ingredients so I’m intrigued for sure.
AN IN SHOWER FACE MASK
Say what? When I heard about these from Gothamista I was looking for where I could purchase a bottle. Make P:rem have come out with a face mask designed to be used in the shower. I’ve already used this a couple of times and it’s like a jelly moisturiser that sinks into the skin with the heat of the shower. It leaves my skin soft and the fruit extracts are a great chemical exfoliant. I’m also in love with the minimal aesthetic they have going on. Make P:rem has already been noted as one of those brands I want to discover more from this year.
