Petal Pathways: An Instagram Photo Walk
Exactly a week ago today I embarked on a somewhat spontaneous Blogging Insta Photo Walk with the amazing ladies that are Sarah, Gwennan and Mel. It all started when Sarah posted a blog post on Instagram accounts to follow. I was so chuffed (and still am) that she included me and decided to tweet her and share my little dream of going on an Instagram photo walk. A little blogging outing with people that get it. Those moments when you want to rearrange all the food on the table for the perfect flatlay or spend 30 minutes playing with petals to get that magic shot.
I didn’t actually think anything would become of it but because these ladies are one of a kind ace, a trip to Richmond was swiftly put in the diary alongside a Google map plotting all of our future photographing adventures. I first met these ladies last year when they organised the #BloggerPitP and knew it was going to be a ball of laughs (and that I would get lost). I’m usually early to everything and can navigate pretty well but for some reason, when we meet up, I get lost. Anyway, I’ll fast forward to the good bit.
The weather was incredible. Sunny with a light breeze. We started at the Petersham Nurseries which was a dream. I wanted to buy so many things but held back only because I didn’t want to lug around a plant for the rest of the day. Then we hopped in Sarah’s car and headed over to the Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park. We went at the perfect time of year. The flowers were all in full bloom with the pathways sufficiently scattered with petals. I consciously tried to balance the amount of time I spent behind my camera and in the moment just soaking it all in. It felt so uplifting to be surrounded by nature and good company.
