Sleek & Knot Free Hair With Tangle Teezer Aqua Splash

Tangle Teezer Aqua Splash

My hair is thick, wavy and full of volume. It sounds glamorous but it really isn’t. It spends most of its life held up in a bun and when it comes to brushing it out, it’s quite the mammoth task. I prefer brushing my cat's than my own hair. Don’t get me wrong, my hair isn’t a matted mess. It’s relatively knot free but that’s after the conditioning and serums and oils and de-frizzers. It’s constant combing and brushing and time.

Being introduced to the Tangle Teezer Aqua Splash* turned out to be quite the time saver. I’ve always loved using Tangle Teezers (and have owned many over the years) but it never occurred to me to use it on wet hair in the shower. The Aqua Splash is designed just for this. Its very light, sleek and longer design with a hollow interior makes it easier to carefully brush through wet hair and prevents water build up inside the brush (which would make it heavy and harder to use).

It allows you to use more of a rolling action so you’re not tugging hair straight down. You can remove knots and tangles carefully.

Into hair lathered with shampoo (I’m using the Dove Nourishing Oil Shampoo at the moment and loving it), I will brush through my hair with the Aqua Splash. It’s so much easier to de-tangle when it is wet and shampoo-ed up. You could also do this with conditioner. I find that less strands snap at the roots or midway using this. The design also makes it easier to brush from underneath. I’ll then continue using the Aqua Splash with a rolling motion as I wash out my hair section by section.

It leaves a much sleeker and tangle free finish. I also find that if I then towel dry my hair, less falls out. This is because there are two types of teeth on this brush. The long ones flex and dismantle tangles whilst the short teeth smooth down the hair.

For years, I’ve cut my own hair, mainly wielding a thinning scissors, but the Aqua Splash Tangle Teezer* is proving to be a useful tool that may aid this process. I also find it works well on dry hair and could be used to create a voluminous style or to gather hair into a top knot. The latter being exactly what I do every morning.

Have you tried a Tangle Teezer before? What do you think of the Aqua Splash or their other cute designs?
